Architectural Services for Tawheed Community Centre
The Tawheed Community Centre (TCC) is seeking bids from qualified architectural firms to assist in creating and submitting detailed building plans to the City of Mississauga. The proposed facility will serve as a multi-purpose community center, including a dedicated masjid (mosque) space. The ideal candidate will have experience with designing religious spaces, community centers, and navigating zoning requirements for such projects.
Scope of Work
The selected architect will be responsible for:
- Conceptual Design:
- Collaborating with TCC representatives to understand project goals and functional requirements.
- Providing multiple design options for review and selection.
- Architectural Drawings:
- Creating detailed architectural drawings for the proposed community center, including the masjid portion.
- Ensuring compliance with all building codes, accessibility standards, and local bylaws.
- Zoning Expertise:
- Advising on zoning requirements specific to religious and community spaces within the City of Mississauga.
- Assisting with any necessary rezoning applications or amendments.
- City Submissions:
- Preparing and submitting all necessary documentation and drawings to the City of Mississauga for review and approval.
- Addressing feedback or requested modifications from city officials to ensure timely approvals.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensuring the project aligns with Ontario Building Code and other relevant provincial or municipal regulations.
- Project Consultation:
- Providing expert guidance during the planning and pre-construction phases.
- Attending project meetings as needed to discuss progress and resolve design-related queries.
Submission Requirements
Interested firms must provide the following in their bid:
- Company Profile: Overview of the firm, including relevant experience with religious spaces and community centers.
- Portfolio: Examples of similar completed projects, particularly within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
- Key Personnel: Resumes of lead architects and other relevant team members.
- Work Plan: Proposed approach to the project, including timelines and milestones.
- Fee Structure: Detailed cost breakdown, including estimated fees for design, documentation, and city submissions.
- References: Contact details for at least three clients for whom similar work was performed.
Evaluation Criteria
Bids will be evaluated based on:
- Experience with religious and community center projects.
- Familiarity with Mississauga zoning and regulatory processes.
- Quality and relevance of portfolio.
- Cost-effectiveness and transparency of the proposed fee structure.
- Client references and testimonials.
