Your school is invited to participate in the 7th annual TCC Poetry Slam on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Schools can register a maximum of two students (or groups) per category. Parents cannot directly register their children unless they have received explicit approval from their school administration.

Rules are listed below. The cost is $15 per student and will include a pizza lunch.

The theme for this year’s event is Humanity.

The Poetry Slam will take place at the Tawheed Community Centre, 5585 McAdam Road, Mississauga.

What do finalists win?

1. Category finalists win a trophy for their category. All participants will receive a participation certificate.

2. In addition to their trophies, category finalists will be invited (along with one parent/guardian) to perform at the TCC IGNITE THE MIC Poetry Event on Saturday, May 27, 2023 in the Tawheed Community Centre, Mississauga. They will be part of an amazing evening featuring local talents! Tickets for this event will go on sale in May 2022.
